Founded in 1978 as a Centro Machiavelli is a centre of Italian language and culture for foreigners , Centro Machiavelli deals with training and European planning (LLP, Erasmus+). In this context, it carries out multiple actions, both as a coordinator and as a partner, cooperating with partners from all over Europe and third countries. Structured in two Departments related to its main fields of activity - Italian language and culture school for foreigners and training agency - it is with the latter that Centro Machiavelli works in European planning with the following purposes:
- Training paths and models functional to local needs, which contribute to the development of innovation in Edu, VET & Youth
- Methodological and technological innovation in training, creating and experimenting with innovative projects and models
- Cooperation at European level and integration between the different subjects involved in quality education and training
- Training of trainers, teachers, educators and education professionals in general
Centro Machiavelli manages research and training activities for the updating of the skills of professionals in different fields such as education - including early childhood education - VET, social area and youth. A particular focus is placed on methodological research on the application of the non-formal approach, exploring the potential of social mediation methods for Lifelong Learning and LifeWide Learning to support continuous training of teachers/trainers, educators and youth workers. Educational models, strategies and tools (including digital ones) useful for setting up inclusive, interactive and cohesive educational activities and designing them according to the characteristics of their users (children, adolescents and young people, adults), are the core of several EU projects that Centro Machiavelli carries out with these purposes, adapting them to the educational objectives of different areas: ECEC (Early Childhood Education and Care), cultural heritage, active citizenship and transversal skills, VET actions.
Since 2022, Centro Machiavelli is an Accredited ERASMUS+ CENTRE for Key Action 1 Transnational Mobility for learning purposes in the field of Vocational Training. As part of the Accreditation, the Centre organizes and manages job-shadowing actions or for the training of professionals (in sending and in receiving) and actions for the mobility of young students aged between 16 and 19 from local secondary schools (both in progress and recent graduates) belonging to its Consortium. (Agreement N° 2023-1-IT01-KA121-VET-000127960 CUP: G11B23000400006, Accreditation valid from 01/02/2022 to 31/12/2027).
In 2025, Centro Machiavelli becomes a Training Organization officially accredited by the Tuscany Region (Code OF0403) for the implementation of training courses for the qualification, requalification, and professional updating of adults, including Regulated Training, according to regional standards and regulations.
