Hosted by Centro Machiavelli, on 19 July 2022, the project partners met each other in Florence for the last transnational meeting of the project READ-COM – Reading Communities from the paper books to the digital era – Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership for EDUCATION.
During the meeting, the partners analyzed the latest formalities for the project closing and they planned all the final activities necessary for the correct finalization of the whole experience. The core issues faced by partners was the discussion of the sustainability perspectives of what was achieved within the READ-COM project and the analysis of the possible future ways to valorize its results through new actions aimed at supporting the value of reading education right up to from early childhood as a vehicle for the personal and social growth of children and a lever for the development of their sense of belonging to the community. READ-COM indeed was aimed to explore the pedagogical potential of reading education and its possible implications in support of social cohesion, for an inclusive and resilient community. The meeting also gave the partners the opportunity to strengthen once more the good ties and positive synergies that have been created between all the partner organizations in view of future collaborations.
The meeting also allowed to better coordinate all their interventions for the final conference, scheduled for the following day at the Oblate Library.
