Comparison and intergenerational exchange between young people, adults and the elderly for the transfer and preservation of the heritage of the past, with the aim of initiating a process of actualization of this enormous wealth.
The main idea of the project The Memory Exchange is intergenerational exchange ,a form of collaborative learning among young people, adults and the elderly, in all fields of knowledge and know-how. The project is based on the assumption that all generations possess specific skills, which are important to transmit and share, in a sort of communicating vessel.
Each partner involved in the project has identified several areas of intervention, one or more relevant areas in their territory.
The results of the data collected have been entered in the special "Memory Boxes”, published on the websites of the partners in the various countries.
The "Memory Boxes " contain audio, video, images and other documentation relevant to the context reported by respondents.
Centro Machiavelli, which hosts the conference, focused its "Memory Boxes "on the following content:
- Blind and Visually Impaired : how new media technologies have changed the work processes and the way we live everyday life for people who are blind and visually impaired - in collaboration with the Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired in Florence.
- Artisans: how new media technologies have changed the work processes in the field of design and artistic craftsmanship - in collaboration with Metallo Nobile, a technical school of goldsmiths and jewelry design in Florence.
