ERASMUS+ Project MISSING TILE – 06-07 June 2022 Kick Off Meeting in Florence

The 6 and 7 June 2022 was held in Florence the Transnational Meeting to launch the project DIGIVETT4VIP - MISSING TILE, Il Tassello Mancante - Il Tutor Digitale per Non Vedenti e Ipovedenti (EU ERASMUS+ VET PROGRAMME KA210)

The project involves a number of European institutions working in various capacities in vocational training to promote social inclusion and improve awareness/stability within the labour market of people with disabilities, with particular regard to visual impairment. The kick-off meeting was attended by all the European project partners: Centro Machiavelli - EU Projects Dept. Florence (IT); Polski Zwiazek Niewidomych - PZN, Warszawa (PL) and UIC - Union of Blind Regional Council of Tuscany (IT), the Applicant Coordinator.

The first day of the meeting opened with the presentation of all partners, a subsequent general introduction to the objectives and contents of the project, and then ended with an overview of the project calendar with the assignment of roles, the activities and responsibilities of each partner related to the development of the project.

On the second day of the kick-off meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Italian Blind Union, the project’s work plan was discussed in detail. The first point addressed was the planning of initial mapping activities on assistive ICT devices and accessibility for the blind and visually impaired made by each partner to verify the level of digital skills already demonstrated by operators. The following points were then planned in detail: communication channels and operational strategy involving local stakeholders/partners; introduction of the main lines of the promotion/sharing and evaluation strategy and presentation of the project logo. In conclusion, the financial and administrative aspects were addressed, namely the approved official draft budget, contracts, travel expenses, daily allowances, schedules, internal and official periodic reporting and financial reports. In addition to promotion, dissemination, sharing of activities; planning of the dissemination strategy; evaluation and monitoring process by CM and shared planning to define the dates of the next meeting with all partners.

The technical session at UIC headquarter has been closed by an interesting guided tour to the “Centro Tiflodidattico” of the Union of Blind and to the Braille Print Center
