ERASMUS+ RADAR Project – Researching activities starting

Last 15 April 2020 took place the first “distance Focus Group” for the research on the employability of blind and visually impaired people within the RADAR Project (ERASMUS+ K.A 2, Strategic Partnerships for VET, Development of Innovation)

On 15th April 2020 Applicant Coordinator IRIFOR and CENTRO MACHIAVELLI organized the first “distance Focus Group” to analyze the current employment opportunities for blind and visually impaired job-seekers aimed to the operators of the Tuscany Regional Employment Agency (Agenzia Regionale Toscana per l'impiego - ARTI).

The sample, representing different roles/duties and responsibilities within the local Employment Services, was made up of professionals from different territorial areas such as: Florence and neighboring municipalities (Campi Bisenzio, Pontassieve, Scandicci) and Arezzo.

The online session aimed to:

  1. Collecting info on work and social inclusion policies, support schemes for employability, specific training and career guidance actions for blind and visually impaired people (VIP) done by the Labor Services;
  2. Detect the considerations and highlight the peculiar needs of the Employment Operators on these issues.

This action is placed in the wide frame of the researching activities to be carried out for developing the first Intellectual Output of the RADAR project: the T.E.A.F – “Training, Employability and Accessibility Framework”. It will consist in a general comparison framework done at European level of the VIP work placement and social inclusion procedures, describing weaknesses, strengths and development lines of accessibility and VET Services through a detailed study of the peculiar needs of Employers and Labor services Operators and analyzing the more requested professional profiles (or competences) by firms, coverable also by blind and VI job-seekers thanks to the last assistive ICTs. The T.E.A.F. will focus the state of art of these issues in each partner country – Italy, Austria, Poland and Nederland – and the Focus Group was aimed to collect the info concerning our national  situation.
