Course Overview: The course improves participants' public speaking skills while strengthening their language abilities. Through analysing famous speeches, interactive exercises, and collaborative activities, participants will learn to articulate ideas clearly, engage an audience, and deliver powerful speeches in English, Italian, or Spanish. The course emphasises the development of confidence, clarity, and effective communication techniques.
Language Strengthening: English, Italian, Spanish for everyone, available in all levels from A2 to C2 CEFR. Centro Machiavelli language trainers can provide and personalise for your own necesssity a language course lasting from 1 week until maximum 3 weeks focused on different topics and levels: grammar, business, etc.
MAIN TRAINING PROGRAM
Day 1: Introduction to public speaking
- Fundamentals of public speaking – voice, body language, and audience engagement.
- Ice-breaking speaking exercises to build confidence and reduce anxiety.
- Review of famous speeches – identifying key elements that make them effective.
- Delivering a short speech on a topic of choice, followed by group feedback.
Day 2: Structuring your speech
- Techniques for structuring a speech – crafting a solid opening, clear body, and compelling conclusion.
- Group work on developing speech outlines.
- Drafting a speech, focusing on clarity and logical flow.
- Collaborative feedback session to refine speech structures.
Day 3: Language precision and rhetorical devices
- Importance of language precision – using appropriate vocabulary, tone, and style.
- Analysis of rhetorical devices used in famous speeches.
- Practice using rhetorical devices in speech writing and delivery.
Day 4: Delivering your speech
- Techniques for effective delivery – managing pace, pauses, and emphasis.
- Breathing and vocal exercises to enhance speech delivery.
- Rehearse speeches, focusing on delivery techniques.
- Group feedback on speech delivery, with improvement tips.
Day 5: Final presentations and peer feedback
- Final speech presentations by participants.
- Reflecting on individual progress and learning experiences throughout the course.
- Group discussion on the impact of language and public speaking in professional settings.
- Final feedback session and course conclusion.
